Granstream GXW4004

Step 1 - Connect GXW4004 to your network

  1. Plug the cord(s) of your analogue telephone(s) on RJ-11 FXS port(s) at the back side of your GXW4004.
  2. Plug a UTP Ethernet cable connected to your network (Hub, Switch or Router) on RJ-45 WAN port at the back side of your GXW4004.
  3. Plug the power supply on the power port and then on a power socket.

Step 2 - Verify the IP address of your ATA

The Grandstream GXW4004 is coming standard configured with its DHCP client enabled on its WAN interface. A DHCP server required in your network in order to provide it with an IP address. 

  • Pickup the phone connected on the FXS1 port 
  • Dial *** (Enter a menu option)  
  • Dial 02 (IP address) to listen the IP address of your Grandstream GXW4004; hang up
  • Dial *** (Enter a menu option)
  • Dial 12  (WAN port web access disabled)
  • Dial  (WAN port web access enabled) to enable the WAN port web access; hang up 
  • Dial *** (Enter a menu option)  
  • Dial 99 (RESET) 
  • Dial 9 (Rebooting) to reboot your GXW4004 in order your changes to take effect; hang up
(*In case you would like to configure your Grandstream GXW4004 via the web interface, please refer to the 2nd configuration step of the Grandstream HT 486.)

Step 3 - Use a browser to login and configure your ATA

Open a web browser to the address: http://<IPADDRESS>/,
where <IPADDRESS>is the IP address of your GXW4004 (found previously during the pre-configuration step 2). The default password is "admin".

  • Select Profile 1 and set the following:
  • Set SIP Server to: sip1.voiceglobe.net
  • Set User ID is phone number to: Yes
  • Set SIP Registration to: Yes
  • Set Unregister On Reboot to: Yes
  • Set Outgoing call without Registration to: No
  • Set Preferred Vocoder to: 
    • choice 1: G.729AB
    • choice 2: PCMU
    • choice 3: PCMA
  • Press Update.
Sipura SPA2000
  • On the next screen, press FXS Ports 
  • Set SIP User IDto: <YOUR Voiceglobe Account>
  • Set Authenticate ID to: <YOUR Voiceglobe Account>
  • Set Password to: <YOUR Voiceglobe Account Password>
  • Set Name to: <YOUR Name>
  • Press Update.
  • On the next screen, press Reboot

Step 4 - Start using your ATA

  • Pick up the phone, hear the dial tone, and start dialling:

Voiceglobe Voicemail: dial * 9 8 #
Account balance announcement: dial * 1 1 #
Any PSTN line worldwide: dial <COUNTRY code><phone number> #
